What is the Okanagan Hot Beverage Festival?

The Okanagan Hot Beverage Festival is a month-long, region-wide celebration featuring the best cozy drinks across cafés, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and bars. Guests follow a “Sip Trail,” discovering unique creations and voting for their favourites.

How does my business participate?

Participation is simple. Choose one featured hot beverage to showcase throughout the festival. This can be:

  • A brand-new specialty creation designed just for the festival
    OR

  • Your top-selling hot drink already on your menu to compete for “Best Hot Drink in the Okanagan”

Both options are equally welcome — creativity, flavour, and presentation all shine during the festival.

What types of businesses can join?

  • Cafés & Coffee Shops

  • Wineries (mulled wine, warm cocktails)

  • Breweries

  • Restaurants

  • Cocktail Bars

  • Markets & Bakeries (hot cider, teas, specialty drinks)

  • Hotel lounges

If you serve a warm beverage, you can join!

How much does it cost to participate?

Pricing varies based on the package you choose.
Rates will be announced soon — but expect affordable, entry-level options and bigger visibility packages for businesses wanting more exposure.

What do I need to prepare for the festival?

  • A chosen drink to feature (new or existing)

  • Drink name & description

  • Ingredient list (for allergy info)

  • Price

  • Any photos (if using Starter Package)

  • Staff awareness about festival customers

  • Optional: decorations or menu signage to showcase your feature

Can we change our drink after submitting it?

Yes! Final drink submissions will be due close to launch — you’ll have time to test recipes and finalize details.

How does the voting system work?

Guests scan a QR code at your location or on the website to vote.
Votes count toward:

  • “People’s Choice”

  • Category awards

  • Final top drink rankings (announced after the festival)

Do we handle our own drink pricing?

Yes. You set your own price based on your menu and ingredients. We recommend keeping pricing consistent with your regular specialty drinks.
